The next generation of consoles will again offer, of course, a great technological leap in terms of the graphic aspect of the games. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will arrive with very current hardware and that will allow them to offer an enviable technical power at its premiere, which should be noticed a lot in the graphics. While an overwhelming leap is not expected, we should notice differences with technologies like ray tracing, in addition to great fluidity and stability with 4K graphics.

While fans' concern may be related to graphics in terms of lighting, textures, particles and drawing distance – probably the most prominent – developers may well be thinking of other less obvious improvements. This is the case of the animator Jonathan Cooper, who has worked for such important licenses as The Last of Us and Mass Effect. Specifically Jonathan thinks about how the next-gen will improve the characters' hair.

One of the most complicated elements of cheering on a video game character is hair. The hair is a lot of problems today, its physics are not real, and technology has not yet been able to deal with this problem with an acceptable solution – in addition to consuming many resources. That is why Jonathan Cooper hopes that the technology of the next consoles will improve this aspect of the animation of a character, sharing a video with a simulation of how you expect the characters' hair to look created for next-gen games on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
