The price that Twitch subscriptions will have with the new regional prices that they announced for several Latin American countries have already been known. This measure will also be applied in Europe, the Middle East and other regions but for now only those of a few other countries have been announced.
Among those are those in Latin America that have seen the price cut considerably. The most expensive will be those of the Caribbean islands such as The Bahamas that go from 4.99 to 4.59 dollars or from 4.99 to 3.49 in the case of Martinique. For their part, Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador or Chile will have to pay half or even less.
For example, Argentina will go from the usual 4.99 to 1.99 and Brazil from 23 reais to 8 reais. Colombia, Haiti, Venezuela or Bolivia will also pay only $ 1.99, so many more subscribers are expected in the coming months.
Twitch posted the full listing in a blog post in which he also comments that the price change in Mexico and Turkey, the first countries to adopt this modality, has been a complete success.
Compared to the three months prior to the introduction of local subscription prices, viewers are giving away five times more subscriptions. Now more creators are getting subscription income and more viewers are supporting their favorite channels.
In short, the lower subscription prices are helping creators and viewers build a dynamic community together!
These results confirm that the decrease in prices contributes to the increase in subscribers. We are excited to announce that we will begin implementing local subscription pricing in more regions of the world.
Let’s remember that Twitch has opted for the strategy of selling subscriptions cheaper in order to sell more and attract more people. Many streamers have been critical of this as their income will decrease, and that’s taking into account that Twitch will compensate most of the streamers if their usual income drops.
This compensation will last for at least a year, so we will not really see how it affects streamers, especially the small ones, until 2022. Twitch says that for now the results are positive, although it is worth noting that it was expected since it is a novelty .
Subscriptions to a Twitch channel allow you to interact with the content creator privately, use exclusive emoticons, and participate in activities that only allow subscribers to enter.
