The new console generation offers gamers unique opportunities to fondly remember some of the offerings that made the PlayStation 4 generation unique. This has allowed us to see some games like God of War with improvements to take advantage of next-gen graphics quality or, in this case, with Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy deciding to reach next-gen together . everything with Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.
The best thing about this pack is that it gives gamers a unique opportunity for the next generation and that is to have one of the games on PS4, either in its physical or digital version, you can access both on PS5 by paying for the upgrade. In this way, our analysis of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection begins by leaving a good taste for those who had only one of the games or even both pending. However, what else does this collection have to offer us?
Analysis of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection – The leap to the next generation
When you start your adventure with Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, you will find that the campaigns of both titles are present there. That is, you will have a menu where you can select the adventure you want to start. Of course, you should know that these remained untouched, i.e. without variant
In the Uncharted collection, you won’t find a new chapter or a bonus mission
Of course, by that we mean, all those players who were considering being able to play their multiplayer, the one who so well PlayStation 4 gamers remember, the reality is that you will need this version of the previous generation to be able to access it. This option is not found in the collection and, although it is an addition that does not add anything to the story, it is a point to mention.
Of course, if they leave us through multiplayer, which isn’t far behind is the excellent gameplay. Just as both works were essential on PlayStation 4, they are still a playable marvel on PlayStation 5. That is to say that it is to be able to remember the adventures of Nathan Drake or, in itself, those that Chloé and Nadine lived, it is a good pretext to rediscover these characters and their history.
An improvement in the performance of the two structures
One of the strong points of the new generation is precisely the absence of loading times which make us wait indefinitely or even Improved performance and visual quality. We find this in the Uncharted collection, where the PlayStation 5 knows how to take advantage of the beauty that these games showed exclusively on PS4 in their day.
Different graphic modes to suit your needs
The presence of playing in the Performance and Performance+ modes
Also, for those lucky enough to be able to play in 4K, there’s the loyalty, where the image becomes much sharper and the frame rate per second becomes 30 fps, something present on PS4. Of course, this means that with each mode, the player must find the one that is the most attractive, comfortable and, of course, the one that best suits their needs.
Adaptation for 3D sound and slight improvement of DualSense
For those who have a PlayStation 5 and, with it, headphones with which to enjoy immersive 3D sound, it will be wonderful to be able to take advantage of this improvement. A unique way to immerse yourself in history and above all to follow the extraordinary adventure of Nathan Drake as closely as possible. After all, both characters have a lot to say, a lot to offer, and neither is afraid to face obstacles.
In turn, there are also some improvements in DualSense. While it doesn’t take full advantage of the power this next-gen controller has to offer, it shows us a slight resistance in its triggers. This is especially noticeable when using weapons against enemies. However, that’s the most we’ll see when it comes to the new controller.
Unfortunately, what we did not find any improvements with regard to the more technical details. That is, we will not see improvements in animations or textures, nor in their lighting. However, what this update makes us think is that any time is a good excuse to play them again. After all, just as they were great games for those who enjoyed them on PS4, they’re still great works for those who enjoy them on PS5.
In conclusion, is Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection worth it?
Since these are two real must-have wonders on PlayStation 4, we’re not going into details about their history, but about what this collection actually offers. In general, and as we presented in our analysis, it’s a remaster which offers players the opportunity to meet these two spectacular works in the new generation.
While in terms of improvements this isn’t the collection that many gamers might expect, especially if we feel it doesn’t bring an extra chapter to enjoy, there’s no denying that we’re still facing big games. Titles that, whether on PS4 or now, on PS5, deserves to be appreciated. The fact that its performance modes give us greater image sharpness and greater playback stability encourages us to enjoy these works again. Always being a perfect excuse, either as an option for those who want to update or, in itself, for those who did not have the opportunity to play them the first time.
