The opening moment of the game really set the desired tone and level. The introduction of Outriders was a complete failure.
Outlander I have found myself in a pretty good position. Until the end of this month, April had no newly released products, which provided a good development space for the “People Can Fly” shooting game, allowing the game community eager to have new things to establish its own position. Early impressions indicate that Outriders may be worth the investment (or download from Xbox Game Pass), but the boy did have a difficult start.
Everyone can point out an unforgettable opening game. My first thought was the incredible start of God of War 3, a game that was dazzling from scratch in a way that no one can match. The superb introduction of “Last of Us” will provide you with perfect service and be with you. Every game cannot be such a large budget blockbuster, but they can at least make you stand out.
“Aliens” is a game mainly used to shoot things. You can open it without any shooting, move at the pace of a snail, swipe frequently between the game and cutscenes, and see you talking with many boring NPCs. This is the exact opposite of what I call an explosive beginning. It is a pedestrian. At the moment I was half-closed, people I didn’t care about told me what happened, and my eyes became dull.
I have no doubt that it is difficult to walk away between throwing too much at the player and holding the hand completely, but after about 20 minutes of holographic target shooting training, almost nothing happened. You might say that the time is not long, but the time is too short and too long. I can easily switch to many other new games on Game Pass.
When things finally start (before reaching the character selection point and starting to improve), you are fighting a medium-sized monster in a very narrow space, and the camera tries to keep up with the rapid changes in direction and dodge encouraged . There is a terrible “escape from the bad” process, and countless tricky filming films, which are ruined by the unstable cam filming style.
Then there is an in-game story sequence. You are trapped behind a transport vehicle, similar to the trolley in the famous Skyrim, except that everything is gray and exciting. After that, fortunately, the game did rise to a level, and some of the actual game experience did not make people feel incredible and cut off.
At this point, I’m already very suitable for the game, but I don’t remember the names of individual characters (including my own), and everything I get from the story dialogue is some kind of anomaly. Now I am killing people.
I really don’t mind if there is a fascinating story in the game. The point is, if you want to introduce things slowly within the first 20 minutes of the game introducing shooting things, instead of watching a hellish action movie, then you really need to make it more attractive.
I don’t know how long the game will last, but it’s worth noting that if you want to turn off the power after five minutes, the situation will improve. How much remains to be seen.
