Farming Simulator 22 does not yet have a specific release date. Currently only the fourth quarter of 2021 is in the room. Many fans are currently waiting for the first gameplay, which can only be expected at FarmCon 2021 in July. The waiting time is shortened with the announcement of a long-awaited feature and lots of new screenshots.
Production chains ensure more realism: Until now, the production of bread, chocolate, cheese and other goods was only possible via mods. The subsequent delivery to supermarkets was also not part of the vanilla version. That will change in the new part of the Farming Simulator. Developer and publisher GIANTS Software have announced the new feature together with new screenshots. Production chains are promised that add a new economic level to the simulation.
This is how the new feature works: You harvest your crops as usual and then deliver them to various companies for further processing. Wheat is processed into flour in the grain mill, which the bakery needs to make bread.
Bake bake cake: In addition to bread, cakes are also produced in the bakery. In addition to eggs, a delicious cake also includes flour, milk and sugar. And who is most suitable for the production and delivery of the ingredients? Of course, none other than the local farmer. After you have delivered all the ingredients, you don’t jump into the bakery and prepare the goods yourself. You can lean back and wait until the products leave the bakery lukewarm.
Supermarket or “corner shop”
Some production buildings already exist in part on the two new and the revised version of the Erlengrat map. However, you can also compete with the locally based companies by building your own production buildings, which serve as an additional source of income.
It is not yet known which and how many production buildings there are. However, some end products can already be seen on the newly published screenshots. We assume that the following production buildings will be an integral part of the simulation:
- Mühle: Produces flour
- Bakery: Produces bread and cakes
- Edible oil refinery: Produces sunflower oil
We continue to assume that more buildings and production chains will follow. On the alpine map Erlengrat there was already a cheese dairy, dairy and chocolate factory in LS 19. It is very likely that the buildings in LS 22 will play a bigger role and become an integral part of the production process.
US map Elmcreek announced
In addition to the production chains, the new US map was also presented. You slip into the role of a farmer in the American Midwest. The fictional town of Elmcreek is close to a raging river, hilly areas, a US highway, a gas station and a baseball stadium.
You are offered fields of different sizes and shapes. It is currently not known which field shapes await us in LS 22. Due to the AI helpers, only square and rectangular fields could be found on the basic maps in the past. Many players have long wanted better AI and more varied fields. In our special we have mentioned some of the most important innovations that the LS 22 has to deliver:

First gameplay on FarmCon 21?
So far, fans have been waiting in vain for the first gameplay for Farming Simulator 22. At FarmCon 21, which takes place from July 21 to July 23, the Giants developers will announce further details and features for the new part of the simulation. The official annual community event for the farming simulator is the ideal platform for a reveal of the gameplay.
The new feature is a secret highlight

@SirMetalizerI followed the first announcement of the new farming simulator with excitement. A year more development time gave me hope for many new features. The production chains are a feature that was not my top priority. In view of the newly announced seasons, production chains are a good addition. If you don’t just want to look after animals in winter, you can secure an additional source of income through production buildings.
So far, the production and processing of goods was only possible via mods. They sometimes worked well, but the production mods often required the installation of further scripts and additional mods. That quickly became confusing and complicated.
I am personally looking forward to the new economic component and am curious to see how extensive and complex the production chains will end up being.
