Legends of Runeterra, the card game set in the larger League of Legends universe, will soon feel very different. Riot will be released on June 30th Ascent the underworlds, a new expansion with 40 cards. The patch also aims to make tons of balance changes to shake up the meta-game.
Rise of the Underworlds come with three new champions: the undead pirate Pyke, the time traveler Punk Ekko and the monster queen Rek’sai. These playable characters in League of Legends ensure strong cards in Legends of Runeterra, and they are often the focus of several possible deck combinations.
The set also includes a new keyword: Lurk, which reinforces lurking enemies. Lurker opponents thrive when they’re at the top of your deck. When they are in this position and you attack your enemy, each Lurker ally in your deck will take +1 damage.
In terms of lore, the new maps will help round out the settings of Zaun, Shurima, and Bilgewasser. Supporting cards from Legends of Runeterra can end up playing an important role in the location’s long-term history.
Legends of Runeterra is a free game available on iOS, Android, and Windows PCs. Riot will reveal Every day a new card from the set on the Mobalytics strategy page.
