While there are mobile phones specifically designed to get the most out of the most demanding games, the truth is that the mobile ecosystem has grown over time into a fleet of handheld consoles. Manufacturers are aware of this and it seems that Xiaomi is preparing a new way to push the components of its mobiles even further.
It is a new mode now called ‘Performance Mode’ or performance mode and which appeared through one of the latest beta releases of MIUI for China, specifically in version 21.6.28. At the moment, it has only appeared in said beta and requires, among other things, that the phone being used is on the list of compatible models.
A specific mode to put the phone on top
The future performance mode for MIUI was leaked by Kacper Skrzypek via his Twitter account and he himself says that heActivating it, even in beta phase, was not easy. The mode arrives deactivated, a sign that Xiaomi is actively working on it but that it is not yet finished enough to release it for test users.
Not only is the mode coming off, but it looks like it’s only enabled on certain models, indicating that we’ll have special requirements to take advantage of it when it finally arrives. Presumably, the mode will devote additional resources to the phone and draw full power from the processor
A new “Performance mode” has appeared in #MIUI (from beta version 21.6.28). Unfortunately, this only works in Chinese ROM (not Global) and requires a special accessory (so not all devices are supported). I activated it for me. pic.twitter.com/VaGSnxHdw9

However, it is not clear whether this performance mode will push the processor slightly beyond its limits. disconnect all energy saving mechanisms, although it would make sense to work that way. According to Skyzypek’s account, his activation didn’t make a noticeable difference in performance for him, so he may not be up and running even in his development phase.
Considering that Xiaomi’s next big layered launch will be MIUI 13, it is to be expected that this version of the layer, which will already work natively on Android 12, is the one that is coming out. this new mode of performance for Xiaomi phones that the company chooses. We’re assuming that this will be the high and occasional midrange ranges, but we’ll have to wait.
