Tom Clancy’s XDefiant Is a newly announced free, fast-paced arena first-person shooter game from Ubisoft San Francisco.
After teasing the game for the past 24 hours, Ubisoft finally announced the latest game in the Tom Clancy series: Tom Clancy’s XDefiant.
Tom Clancy’s various attributes collide with each other in the game, and the arena shooter will use characters from the series “The Division”, “Split Cell” and “Ghost Recon” to provide a busy competitive environment. XDefiant plans to become a live service game, and Ubisoft promises to provide support after the game goes live and provide more content over time.
As we can see from various trailers and leaked materials, this game seems to be the final name of the BattleCat project that was leaked last month.

As you would expect from such an arena shooting game, you will be able to deploy a set of gadgets and abilities, depending on your character and your position on the battlefield.
This is the first set of characters you will be able to play:
- Wolf-a tank inspired by Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon
- Echelon-a support course inspired by Tom Clancy’s “Split Cell”
- Outcasts – Therapist inspired by Tom Clancy’s “The Division”
- Cleaner-an assault class inspired by Tom Clancy’s blockade
“Choose your faction, characteristics, abilities, and superheroes,” Ubisoft said. “Choose from a range of primary and secondary weapons, accessories, and equipment to complete your load-then adjust it on the fly to adapt to the ever-changing battlefield.”
Regardless of professional abilities and gadgets, Ubisoft emphasized that this game is “shooting first,” and the publisher seems to put reliable gunfights first. Let us hope that the success of Rainbow Six Siege can help steer this game in the right direction.
