Velan Studios are giving their current dodgeball title Knockout City a comprehensive upgrade for the next-gen platforms. Players on these consoles can look forward to visual improvements.
The makers of the multiplayer title announced a next-gen upgrade for November 2nd. From this day on, Knockout City will even run at 120 fps on Xbox Series X / S and PS5. In addition, the resolution is noticeably screwed up, so that you can look forward to a great look.
How exactly the title then runs depends on the mode you have selected in the settings menu. The options for performance and quality mode are available here. Depending on the platforms, these look like this:
- PlayStation 5: Native 4K at 60 FPS or 1440p (upscaled to 4K) at 120 FPS
- Xbox Series X: Native 4K at 60 FPS or 1620p (upscaled to 4K) at 120 FPS
- Xbox Series S: 1440p at 60 FPS or 1080p at 120 FPS
Separately from this, Velan Studios have also improved the lighting – including new area, ball and particle lights as well as global exposure and local light shadows. Light and shadow should be better accentuated. The textures used are sharper than before, which should make the environment appear more realistic overall.
The upgrade can be downloaded free of charge from the respective store by owners of Knockout City. This also applies to those gamers who purchase the game via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PlayStation Plus.
