Actually, Matt should find clues through the cameras

Matt was portrayed as a detached father and husband in one of Joe’s monologues. However, it turns out that Matt is a devoted husband who is desperate to apprehend his wife’s killer. For this reason he buys a large number of servers on which he stores all the surveillance material. He can also evaluate videos from private networks and devices.

However, the introduction of this accomplished and technically gifted figure poses problems. Because Joe and Love have committed various murders in public: The murder of Matt’s wife, for example. The murderous couple also transported various corpses back and forth. It is therefore absolutely unlikely that there will be no trace of Matt’s extensive video footage.

Blind spots in the narrative

The plot of “You” comes to a critical point: Matthew could have access to the baby monitor used by Joe and Love at any time and thus had an insight into the imprisonment of Cary and Sherry. In addition, the question arises why, despite his extensive knowledge, he did not check the Tesla himself.

Fans of the series have to accept these blind spots in the narrative so that Joe can continue to free himself from the mess.
