Star Wars Eclipse has been said to have been in development for over 18 months, according to Insider.
In the video below, insider Tom Henderson delves into the rumors surrounding the development of Star Wars Eclipse, which Quantic Dreams has been developing for over 18 months, but the studio still doesn’t have a playable version.
Star Wars Eclipse originally started as an MMORPG as Project Karma, which Sony turned down for Detroit: Become Human. Quantic Dream then used the assets of Karma to propose a new Star Wars game to Lucasfilm Games.
Quantic Dream wanted to sell itself to Detroit: Become Human for more resources, but alleged workplace allegations are believed to have evicted all buyers. Because of the poor working conditions, the studio also has personnel problems.
The Quantic Dreams Engine causes problems for Star Wars Eclipse because it was designed for limited levels and a limited number of NPCs. The studio continues to struggle to develop the game’s multiplayer.
