After an initial hype, things have been a little quiet lately Forza Horizon 5 become. The racing game convinces with brutally staged races, a beautiful look and a great soundtrack. One of the biggest shortcomings has always been the fact that, at least in the single player, there are hardly any meaningful pastimes left after the end of the campaign.
The new update could change that – but it doesn’t. Because the patch delivers a new progression system, in which you can unlock badges through eager play, only integrates this into the multiplayer part of the game. The single player experience in particular would urgently need new content, as we have already stated in our test update:

Aside from the new progression in multiplayer mode, the update also provides a few other changes, most of which are just bug fixes. A few highlights can still be filtered out:
- New progression system: You can now unlock badges in multiplayer. However, the developers do not explain exactly through which activities, one only writes

. - Small technical optimizations: Improvements have been made to the stability and performance of the game.

It remains to be seen what content Microsoft has planned for 2022, and whether that will include new activities for solo mode. A look at SteamDB shows that the game has seen better days, although of course the Steam version is only part of the cake.
