At Netflix spider head, Chris Hemsworth plays the brilliant visionary Steve Abesti, who runs a futuristic prison. Rather than being locked away, Spiderhead’s inmates are free to roam the pristine white hallways – before Steve throws them into a glass room and pumps them full of drugs said to aid their redemption.
Two inmates, Jeff and Lizzy, played by Miles Teller (whiplash) and Jurnee Smollet (birds of prey), form a compound that tests the drug-loaded method. In the trailer, we see Steve continually push the envelope as patients fight each other, writhe in pain, have sex with each other, and others engage in increasingly chaotic behaviors. Steve watches it all with nothing but enthusiasm for his unorthodox methods.
Based on a short story by George Saunders (appropriately titled Escape from Spider Head), spider head comes from director Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy and Top Gun: Maverick), with a screenplay by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick (Dead Pool, zombie land).
spider head will be released on Netflix on June 17th.
