Nintendo released a demo today for his upcoming football game, Mario Strikers: Battle League. How does it play? Is it a worthy sequel to the older games? Is it fun? These are questions to which I have no answers. What I can tell you is that in this latest game, Waluigi retains his crown as king of swagger, with his penchant for weird poses with roses looking totally intact.
Mario Strikers: Battle League is being developed by Next Level Games and will be released on June 23 for Switch. It is the third game in the striker
First off, here’s Waluigi’s amazing swagger after scoring a goal:
I discovered these wonderful animations for the first time thanks Twitter user @ElliotDubywho cut her out new demo gameplay footage shared by NintendoLife.
There’s more bragging about where that came from. Here’s what happens when Nintendo’s weird big dude wins a match:

The guy just walks away like he owns the world, and yes, in that moment, in that field, surrounded by god-knows-what-those-things-appearing, I guess he owns the world. He’s the king and he’s back baby
Oh, and don’t worry. For all the idiots out there who love some sexy Waluigi x Rose action
It seems that he recreated the infamous (and erotic) “rose pose” that popped up last year apparently for no reason. It felt like someone deep inside Nintendo made it, hid it, and then uploaded it to the internet on their last day of work for all to see. I say thank you to this person who I completely invented in this blog. Because now we have Waluigi recreating that brilliant flex in a brand new Nintendo game.
You know, all this amazing Waluigi action just reminds me that what the purple prince is supposed to be about is a literal crime eyeball graffiti continue to be excluded from the continuum smash bros Franchise. Look at those animations, that amazing strut, that intense rose action, and tell me he shouldn’t be front and center Super Smash Bros.
And don’t give me shit about “rules” and how he showed up in trophy form or whatever. If a nerd likes Minecraft’s Steve can be there Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, so can Waluigi, aka the human personification of that sound you make when you pop a zit. He’s playing football again, for which I’m grateful. but he should also appear in Nintendo’s big brawler. He deserves it. It’s only fair.
