Yesterday evening Microsoft held its big Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, a PlayStation State of Play was held a few days before. When is Nintendo following suit with its summer edition of the Direct conferences? There are new rumors about this.
According to a new rumor, Nintendo could hold a major Direct conference in the current month of June. At least that is what the statements of usually reliable sources suggest.
For years, Nintendo has aired a major Direct edition in June, usually as part of the major US trade show E3, which has notoriously been canceled this year. This is one of the reasons why such a direct for the current month has not been announced well in advance – as is usually the case. Away from E3, the Japanese usually only confirm a new Direct edition a few days in advance.
Accordingly, it could also be the case this June without E3. Many had speculated that it could be on June 15 – as usual, shortly after big performances like that of Microsoft yesterday. However, this assumption may turn out to be wrong. According to Alana Pearce, writer at the Santa Monica Studio and former IGN editor, the waiting time won’t be too long either: June 29th is supposed to be the time.
Pearce later jumped the magazine Video Games Chronicle to the side, which claims to have heard from its own sources about a Direct issue at the end of the month. Alanah Piearce is also considered extremely reliable and respected within the video game industry.
Bayonetta 3, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Splatoon 3, Mario + Rabidds: Sparks of Hope or Mario Kart 8: Deluxe – Booster Course Pass Wave 2 are potential candidates for an appearance at a Direct conference. As soon as there is official news about this rumor , we will of course report about it.
