“We didn’t want to do anything that’s fan service,” Gilroy explained. “We never wanted anything … at the very beginning the brief was that it was going to be as utterly uncynical as possible, that the show was just going to be real and honest.”
After some delays, the 12-episode series will premiere on September 21 on Disney Plus. Next to Luna and O’Reilly, Andor also stars Stellan Skarsgård (Oh mom), Adria Arjona (disease) and Denis Gough (colette). Forest Whitaker reprises his role as Saw Gerrara, a character who first appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Warsbefore appearing in Villain One.
