Epic Games kicked off the latest season in Fortnite over the weekend. Here is a rough overview of the most important innovations!
Anyone who keeps up with Fortnite can now look forward to the fourth season in Chapter 3, which is called “Paradise” and has been available since the weekend. There are new guns in it again, but also objects and locations – and everything is about a mysterious new substance called chrome.
You can also make that chrome your own in terms of gameplay in the new season. This allows you to defy the laws of physics. If you throw chrome slime on the walls of opposing buildings, they become permeable. By throwing it on the ground, however, you can chrome yourself for a limited time and become immune to fire damage. Or you turn into a blob while sprinting, which moves faster, is immune to fall damage and chrome parts of buildings on contact and can thus pass directly through.
Chrom also takes over the locations on the island, but beyond that also more: With Herald’s Sanctum a completely new location was created. Also, some island locations are seeking safety in the air for fear of the chrome. Condo Canyon is now an expanding location called Cloudy Condos, accessible only via the D launcher.
In keeping with the new season, you can of course expect a fresh Battle Pass that adds new characters, including Spider-Gwen, Paradigm (Reality-659) and Twyn. The Harbinger will also be unlocked later in the season. Battle Royale and Null Build aren’t the only modes where Battle Pass XP can be earned. You can also earn XP in select Creator-made games.
More information about the new season can be found in this blog post on the official website.
