Scorn, the horror game à la HR Giger (Alien), is finally about to be released and brings us a new video with a heavy atmosphere. Eight minutes in which we attend the prologue of this highly anticipated title.
After canceling a first Kickstarter campaign in 2014 and a new one in 2017, Ebb Software’s Scorn project is finally about to bear fruit. Here are some new gameplay clips.
Scorn’s prologue is revealed on video
Scorn, a horror indie game that will draw on the work of Hans Rudi Giger – the artist responsible for the incredible design of the Xenomorph from the Alien saga – is finally preparing for its release on PC and Xbox Series X |S scheduled for October 21, 2022 The new video shared by the developers consists of a montage of the prologue in which a man, naked and with his skin torn off, walks around a planet that could be an alien. All of the sets reflect HR Giger’s signature style, although we’re clearly thinking of various David Cronenberg films, including eXistenZ, a fan of organic structures à la Giger.
Despite its affiliation with the progenitor of the Xenomorph, it’s not an alien production at all. According to initial feedback, the software relies heavily on solving puzzles designed to engage players’ brains and of course on its unhealthy and heavy atmospheric atmosphere. However, it also seems that the lack of clues doesn’t always serve the title and introduces an artificial complexity. To confirm or not with the definitive game awaited by the community and horror lovers.
