Destiny 2 The pyramid of needs is a new exotic bow added as a reward in Season of the Seraph.
It is an energy slotted solar bow with an intrinsic perk that allows its arrows to track enemies when firing the weapon through a “guide ring”, created by landing precision hits and Final blows against fighters and Guardians – Final blows on Guardians generate more energy to build up the Guide Ring charge.
Shooting through this ring will increase weapon damage based on the distance the arrow travels.
In this guide we will explain how to get hierarchy of needshow you can increase your bow drop rate and unlock the Hierarchy of Needs Catalyst.

How to Get the Hierarchy of Needs in Destiny 2
Hierarchy of Needs is a possible drop after completing the Spire of the Watcher dungeon.
That means you have to complete the last encounter in the dungeon – and from there it’s based on pure luck as to whether it will drop.
At launch, it’s unclear if there’s “bad luck protection” enabled, so each completion increases the drop rate – but there are, however, confirmed ways to increase your chances of acquiring this weapon with a little extra work.
How to Increase Need Hierarchy Drop Chance in Destiny 2
Just like with Duality, there are several Triumphs available to complete that will increase the drop chance rate of the Hierarchy of Needs Exotic arc.
Many Triumphs for Spire of the Watcher grant Triumph Score with a couple offering additional rewards like the “Into the Sunset” Sparrow – acquired via the “Resident Vexpert” Triumph – and the “Flight of Soteria” Emblem given for having finished the “Untarnished”. Grit triumphs.
A few of the Triumphs available – some of which are also required for the new “WANTED” title – also grant you a permanently increased drop chance for the Exotic.
Below are the five available Triumphs that will increase the rate of obtaining the Hierarchy of Needs arc upon completion:
- Watch out for the Vexplosion – Complete all encounters in the Spire of the Watcher dungeon without dying
- The magnificent – Complete all encounters in the Spire of the Watcher dungeon in single player
- Spotless grain – Complete all encounters in the Spire of the Watcher dungeon in single player without dying
- Vexpert Resident – Complete the Spire of the Watcher dungeon on Master difficulty
- Devil in the details – Find and listen to every evil recording in the Spire of the Watcher dungeon

In addition to these permanent drop rate buffs, you can also complete the dungeon per character, not only acquiring its associated rewards and completing its weekly Pinnacle challenge, but also an additional chance to get the bow.
Season of the Seraph is here alongside More Than a Weapon, Seraph Key Codes and Resonate Stems and the addition of Rose in Crucible. We also saw a new dungeon, Spire of the Watcher, with a chance of the Hierarchy of Needs dropping at the end. Elsewhere, we saw the arrival of . Moments of Triumph 2022, new Exotics, and an increased level cap. Earlier this year we had the arrival of the King’s Fall and King’s Fall challenges, as well as weapons such as Doom of Chelchis and Touch of Malice. For The Witch Queen, find out how to get Dead Messenger and Parasite.
How to Get the Hierarchy of Needs Catalyst in Destiny 2
Besides the arc itself, the Spire of the Watcher dungeon also contains a catalyst to upgrade and enhance the Hierarchy of Needs Exotic arc.
Once unlocked, the Hierarchy of Needs Catalyst reduces bow draw time and reload speed for a “moderate duration” when deploying a Guidance Ring or hitting an enemy with the one of the arc search projectiles. (Thanks to Hylette on reddit for confirming this.)
To unlock the catalyst for this weapon, you’ll first need to be lucky enough to have the base weapon itself – catalysts usually only drop if you have the weapon it’s for.
However, once you have the bow, all you have to do is complete Spire of the Watcher on Master difficultythe version of the dungeon recommended for power level 1610 and higher, available from the start to anyone who owns the dungeon.
In this version of the dungeon, you will face Overload Champions – in this case, the Conduit Minotaurs become the Overload Champions – as well as enemies with stronger shields thanks to the Match Game modifier.
As such, you’ll want to bring Arbalest or any weapon with adaptive ammo or item matching to it.
Additionally, Harpies gain Arc Shields and since Minotaurs are now Champions, they no longer have Void Shields.
It’s a challenge that’s mostly worth doing in a group, unless you’re really looking for a challenge, so buckle up because you might be stuck there for a while!
The catalyst on the Triumphs page is only visible to those who own the base weapon itself, and while it doesn’t specifically state that Master completions are guaranteed to reward you with them, the general consensus in line suggests that this was a guarantee on their first Masters. completion.
