With the latest update, the Echo Show 15 becomes a Fire TV and can be operated comfortably from the armchair using the remote control. Read here how to pair the Alexa voice remote control.
The Echo Show 15 is now also a Fire TV: With the latest update, Amazon has, as previously announced, also brought its entertainment interface to the smart display and thus massively increased the selection of streaming apps.
Finally, Fire TV is much easier to control than the previously available but severely limited streaming skills for Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. You can control your Fire TV with the Alexa voice remote control even more conveniently than with the touch display of the Echo Show 15.
All you need is a 3rd generation remote control that is not connected to another Fire TV device that is activated at the same time. Here you can find out step by step how the coupling works.
If you don’t see the Fire TV menu option on your Echo Show 15, check which software version your device is running in Settings under Device Options and Check for Software Updates. If the old Fire OS version 7.5.5.5 is still installed, click the menu item once to check for updates again. With version 7.5.0.1, the Fire TV addon should then find its way onto your Echo.
