Even before the big content update Operation Scarlet Spear for Warframe comes out in March 2020, there is a huge patch that changes the game mechanics of the co-op shooter so much that it could be a separate addon. With below are many adjustments that players have been wanting for years.
The first mainline update of 2020
The developer posted the very extensive patch notes in the official forum. In it, he not only lists the changes, but also explains them in detail. We summarize them here and briefly explain the individual points.
- Railjack onboarding: The resources for building the Railjack have been reduced. Anyone who has already built the ship will be refunded the difference.
- Railjack bug fixes: A number of bug fixes for Railjack content.

Changes to scaling: Armor, shields and enemy health no longer scale exponentially, but like an S curve.
- Slash and toxin damage: Slash damage goes through armor, but not through shields. Toxin damage ignores shields, but no armor.
- Tenno have their own types of damage: The armor, shields and health of your Warframes are of the new Tenno type. At the beginning he has neither weaknesses nor resistance.
- Infested damage: Infested melee attacks will do more damage in the future.
- AI Aimbots: The opponents will not hit better in the future, the higher their level. It should feel less like an aimbot.
- Shield gating: As long as you have shields, you can no longer be done with one shot. You can handle the shield gating of the opponents with hits on their weak points.
- Arcane changes: The Arcanes' maximum rank is increased from three to five.
- Self-Damage: You can no longer wound yourself. Instead, you can no longer take any actions in such situations.
- Excavator-Sacling: The derricks in the Excavator missions now scale their health, and shields now match the mission level.
- Titania rework: Titania's capabilities have been completely redesigned.
- Vauban: The Warframe Vauban and its prime version get more armor.
- Mission Rewards: Some particularly bad credit caches and endo rewards have been removed from the mission drop tables.
- UI adjustments: There are some changes to the user interface. Among other things, the labels of the items are now displayed again by default.
- New blueprints: Items that restore your energy and health can now be made in hundreds of packs.
- Mod-sharing: You can now have the same mod equipped on a Sentinel weapon and your own weapon at the same time. The previous limitation no longer applies.
- Status effect chance over 100 percent: Status effects can be triggered multiple times if the chance is over 100 percent.
- Status chance mods buffed: Mods that only improve the status chance were buffed from 15 or 30 to 90 percent.
- Grenades mark: Enemy grenades are marked on your HUD.
- Kuva-Liche: The marble progress of failed lichen counts for the entire squad.
- Graphic improvements: The maximum field of view has been increased from 78 to 90. There is also a preview of deferred rendering and HDR.
The update Operation Scarlet Spear, which follows a little later, should not only become particularly important for the history of Warframe, it also introduces the Squad Link feature. Deadlock Protocol, on the other hand, is to follow in April and shed light on the origin of the enemy faction of the corpus.
