news culture ‘I feel like I’ve lost an hour’: Episode 7 of The Last of Us series disagrees at all
With The Last of Us series coming to a close, it looks like Episode 7 has caught a whirlwind of dissatisfaction. Overall, Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin’s saga was very well received, but Amazon Prime Video has arguably just released the most controversial episode of it. And the reason is more surprising than you think. If Episode 7 is being targeted and abused by fans, it’s because it’s quite simply a huge spoiler for Left Behind, the scripted expansion to the first The Last of Us.
From the very beginning of its airing, The Last of Us series plays with the viewer, regularly incorporating flashbacks to explain past events that serve the present story. We could see that especially with Episode 3 and the touching story of Bill and Franck.

A kiss, spoilers and a sad return to the past
Therefore, referring to this scenario, we understand that the director simply transcribed the Left Behind DLC, which had been the victim of major troll attacks upon its release.
It didn’t take long for the first derogatory comments to hit the web. Beyond that aspect, fans (generally those who know the games) also regret the episode’s lack of pep that we don’t feel a sense of urgency. The other issue stems from its somewhat abrupt ending and its “too faithful” respect for the source material. This is evident from the reviews, although other reviews do not show the same bias at all. On the other hand, some (those less familiar with video games) believe that The Last of Us is a drama and that this Episode 7 has its place in the development of Ellie’s character.
In short, you will have understood that Episode 7 has just as much, if not more, in common than Episode 3. Some will see it as a filler while others will succumb to this relationship between two young women left to their own devices. Proof that The Last of Us leaves no one indifferent.
