Ghostface has returned for another killing spree scream 6 and this time he’s in the Big Apple. In the latest episode, the masked killer returns with multiple identities to pursue the four survivors scream 5. scream 6 opened the series’ best-ever weekend box office, hitting $44 million in its first few days.
With such success, it seems like a given that another Scream movie is on the way, but a new entry in the series hasn’t been officially announced yet. With that in mind, here’s everything we know about what scream 7

Will there be a Scream 7?
Probably, but it’s not confirmed. While a new slasher sequel is always likely, and doubly likely if the current iteration opens as strong at the box office as scream 6 has done, Paramount still hasn’t made an official announcement about the next installment in the franchise.
When will Scream 7 be released?
If scream 7 is really on the way, and if it’s coming from the team at Radio Silence that’s been running the last two, then it’ll probably take a little longer than the ridiculously quick 14 months that’s taken in between scream 5
Will Jenna Ortega Star in Scream 7?
Probably! Given that she survived the attack of the assassins in scream 7and given that she’s the biggest star on the show right now, it seems pretty likely that Jenna Ortega will be back for it scream 7.
Who else will be in Scream 7?
The Core Four look guaranteed to return for another Scream sequel should it release, but the rest of the cast is a little more up in the air. Courtney Cox’s reporter character, Gale Weathers, also survived this film, meaning she could be back for another entry in the franchise. Neve Campbell, who plays franchise star Sidney Prescott, has dropped out scream 6 due to apparent contract differences, but it’s possible she’ll return in the future as well.
