ash time Pokémon The anime has finally wrapped in Japan, and the trailer for the new series, Pokemon Horizons, sets up the upcoming adventure.
We’ve known for a while that our beloved main character Ash Ketchum, who barely caught any Pokemon, would no longer be the main character of the Pokemon anime. The final episode of Pokemon Journeys: The Series (the full title of the previous season) aired in Japan, bringing Satoshi’s story to a close and, for many who grew up with the best Pokemon trainers in the world, It might bring tears to their eyes. But there’s a new generation of trainers that will lead the Pokemon anime, and there’s a new trailer that gives the first proper look at what’s next in the series.
Pokemon Horizons: The Series will debut this year and will focus on a new pair of protagonists, Liko and Roy. Eagle-eyed fans have noticed that Liko’s barrette resembles the badge on Ash’s original hat, leading some to question if there’s some connection between the two, but it’s entirely possible that it’s just a way of implying that they’re their respective protagonists.
The first trailer tells us more about Liko, she seems to start her journey as a student, there seems to be some kind of mysterious pendant doing it…something I don’t know, it’s mysterious for a reason, Although it looks like it might have something to do with the shiny rift. We also get a brief look at a wider range of new characters, such as Friede and his trusty Captain Pikachu, as well as some villains and other supporting characters.
In a very sweet statement, Ash’s English voice actress, Sarah Natocheni, thanked the character’s Japanese voice actress, Rika Matsumoto, for 17 years of inspiration. “As I continue to record the last few episodes of Ash and Pikachu’s Pokémon journey, I want to thank and congratulate this incredible woman who has inspired my performance as Ash’s triumphant English voice over the past 17 years, Rika Matsumoto ,” wrote Natocheni.
Regarding what’s next for the game, last month The Pokemon Company announced that Pokemon Crimson and Violet will be split into two expansions, both of which will release this year.
