Samsung's Galaxy S smartphone is difficult to repair. The new Galaxy S20 Ultra is no exception, but a new highlight, according to iFixit experts, replacing the battery is more difficult than ever. This will lead to higher maintenance prices.

The smartphone shop iFixit dismantled the new Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and evaluated how easy it is to repair the phone. The result of the so-called disassembly is not surprising. With three-tenths of a score, the S20 Ultra underperforms its predecessor. However, Samsung makes typical repairs more difficult. iFixit concludes: “Replacement of a stuck battery is more difficult than ever.” Not only is it fixed in the case with strong adhesive, it must also be addressed when replacing the connection cables on the circuit board.

Changing a broken screen is not a kid's game either. This requires completely disassembling the device or replacing half of the smartphone. In addition, the phone's back cover must be released for each repair. This should have an impact on the repair price of the Galaxy S20. However, Samsung has not revealed the price.

However, in recent years, the price of Samsung's display or battery replacement has gradually increased. It would still cost € 192.73 to repair the display damage on the Galaxy S9 +, and Samsung requires € 225.12 on the Galaxy S10 5G. For the display exchange of Note 10+, 237.57 euros should be paid. When replacing the battery, the price of the above models increased from 73 euros to 75 euros.
