During yesterday’s Diablo live stream, Blizzard had one or two surprises in the package. For example, Diablo Immortal will soon be reinforced by the Blood Knight.
New classes are certainly not a matter of course in Diablo titles, but now it has happened. The mobile offshoot Diablo Immortal actually gets supplies on the player bench. Already from July 13th you can shoo the brand new Blood Knight into battle.
The Blood Knight has a very vampiric demeanor, and in fact Blizzard says that vampires and blood knights are “intertwined” in Sanctuary. The newcomer’s primary weapon is a two-handed lance with vicious piercing attacks, but he can also use it to impale and smash opponents, and use it to stun opponents. He can also rake distant enemies with throwing daggers.
He also has a transformation that grabs you completely different skills in the bar. Blood Rage turns you into a ball of blood that hurtles forward, and another gives you a three-hit combo attack, the last of which sends you airborne and down with an AoE stun. So it sounds as if the blood knight as a hybrid of melee and ranged combat is a real bank, especially against large crowds of enemies.
The Blood Knight comes into the game for free, and there will also be an introductory event that will allow you to try out the new class in a late-game scenario.
Of course, Blizzard has given the newcomer a trailer:
