The corona virus is drawing ever larger circles. While Bavaria has recently declared a catastrophe and, like Austria, has blatantly restricted public life, EA is also taking further consequences in the gaming industry.
Electronic Arts continues to respond to Covid-19 and has now officially canceled a number of planned (eSports) events. The Global Series in the two successful titles Apex Legends and FIFA 20 are particularly affected.

New appointments in cases of postponement cannot yet be named. EA said: "It wasn't easy for us to make these decisions. However, given the size and global nature of the events, we believe that the changes will protect the health of the community, including gamers, visitors, and employees As we continue to monitor corona virus developments and guidelines are being issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), we will also reassess the situation and update news related to EA's eSports Publish events. "
The staff also want to be protected accordingly and help to limit the spread of the virus. It is recommended that your own employees – in North America, Europe and Australia – work from home until at least April 1, 2020.
