Gaming News You didn’t know this incredible detail from the Final Fantasy 7 saga, the connections between these characters should have been radically different
When designing a video game, ideas flow, but not all of them are easy to retain. Sometimes other ideas even replace the first ones. Something we can see with the first Final Fantasy 7, released in 1997.
Final Fantasy VII: Tifa shouldn’t exist
According to the latest edition of The Game Awards, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth is the most anticipated game of 2024. The title serves as a sequel to Fantasy VII: Remake, released in 2020, and continues the adventures (this time outside of Midgard) of Cloud , Tifa, Barett, Aerith and Red XIII. A journey that is probably different from the original, as Remake and the various Rebirth trailers have reshuffled the cards compared to the 1997 game. Apparently, players of the first game are wondering about the presence of This scene
Were there two heroines from the start?
This informative interview also reveals that Cloud, who was blonde in Final Fantasy VII, was depicted with black hair for the first time. Still about the hero’s hairstyle, Nomura adds that he wanted to use as few polygons as possible (a question of space on the disks) and thought of a cut with the hair pulled back

For brothers and sisters, lovers?
Nomura seems to be all about the hair! With the release of Final Fantasy VII in 1997 and all related products since then, many gamers have noticed a similarity between Aerith and Sephiroth: They have the same haircut! Somewhat logical, since the two characters basically had to be brothers and sisters:
Initially, Sephiroth and Aerith were supposed to be brother and sister, so I gave them similarities in their bangs. This aspect was abandoned in the early stages, but the bangs remained (laughs). I believe the original idea for them to be siblings later revealed that Sephiroth was Aerith’s first love. Finally, Nojima (Kazushige, one of the other springs behind FF7) thought of Zack and everything was solved.
With statements like that, you can’t help but think about what the game would have been like without Tifa and with Aerith as Sephiroth’s (probably) half-sister. A thought process that players can continue with Rebirth, which also promises changes. Final answer with the release of the title on February 29th, exclusively on PlayStation 5.
