Even though Myth of Empires is already very well received by its players in Early Access and is considered a really wonderfully comprehensive survival MMO, there has been a lot of anger about the game in the past. So big, in fact, that it hasn’t been for sale on Steam for years.
Now, however, it is returning to the platform and will then be published in full immediately – leaving its early access phase behind. The next big patch will be accordingly packed, bringing tons of new content into the game. Above all, a new playing card, which is the focus of the release trailer:

Myth of Empires: Epic release trailer reveals the new map
This is all in V1.0
Myth of Empires is already appreciated for the fact that a lot is possible in this game. You can build bases, wage war in territories, improve your character or tame animals. When the game is released, you will be given significantly more options.
For example, there will be a second map called Dongzhou, which is being introduced as an alternative to the original early access card. There are many different areas here, such as volcanoes, islands, sandy beaches, bamboo forests or ice floes. You can then cover the map with war and use numerous new vehicles.
The innovations include:
- Glider
- Giant sky lanterns
- Warships
- rafts
- Playable musical instruments
- Automatic defense systems
- New inheritable attributes for animals
- Lots of new server modes
The V1.0 version of Myth of Empires is scheduled to appear on February 21st. If you can find out more about it beforehand, read our early access test:
Why wasn’t the game on Steam for years?
There was a bit of drama surrounding Myth of Empires, as the studio clashed with the publisher and development studio behind the survival hit Ark. The reason for the legal mudslinging was the accusation that the studio behind Myth of Empires was said to have used Ark’s source code without permission.
However, there has now been an agreement between the parties. This means that the publisher Snail Games simply includes Myth of Empires in its portfolio and thus officially distributes the game – of course with a corresponding profit share.
