Against the Storm was recently released in version 1.0, although thanks to updates it has now reached 1.1. But this is far from the end of the road for the building game, the developers have now published the roadmap. We’ll show you what’s next.
The path to the DLC
With the preceding graphic, the developers give an outlook on the upcoming content for their strategy hit:
- Free Update 1.2
- Statistics window for viewing production and consumption of goods
- Blightpost Upgrades
- New graphics illustrating world events
- Spanish translation updates (for Latin America)
- Free Update 1.3 (content to be announced)
- DLC
- New playable race
- New biomes
- New buildings
- New events
- New Perks
- New tasks from the queen
But be careful: As always, such roadmaps are rough plans. The developers also point this out. However, the wording shows that the above points represent the minimum. It can therefore be assumed that patch 1.2 in particular will contain significantly more than what is listed.
When is all this coming? Nothing is said about the time periods, let alone the exact dates on which the two major updates and the DLC will appear, nor about the expected price of the add-on.

Against the Storm – test video for the city building hit
What is Against the Storm about?
In Against the Storm you build a settlement and fight against the acid rain of the title. In order to arm your subjects, you collect resources, as is typical of the genre, build buildings and stock up on supplies, because the next ominous storm front is guaranteed to come.
For details, please take a look at the test linked below or read this previously published article for a shortened presentation.
However, the lifespan of the individual settlements is usually quite short and, as is usual with roguelikes, failure is part of the game concept. Long-lasting annual games that you could pass on to your children are not the goal of all efforts here.
What do you think of the roadmap? Is there anything missing that you’ve been waiting for, or is the roadmap at least broadly in line with what you want for the future of Against the Storm?
