According to Apple, this live hack can have dire consequences. On an official advice page, the iPhone manufacturer expressly advises against drying wet devices with rice.
Apple said the rice grains could damage the iPhone. And the rice trick is actually not recommended in several ways. Too much water will make the rice soft and sticky.
