Baldur’s Gate 3 is a hodgepodge of interesting and mysterious characters. One of them is the forest elf and druid Halsin, who is currently causing a stir on the Internet. A Reddit user has come up with a shockingly conclusive theory about him that turns everything you thought you knew about the character on its head.
Spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers for the story of Baldur’s Gate 3 and Halsin in particular. So if you play the game haven’t finished yetyou should think carefully about whether you want to continue reading.
Isn’t Halsin what he says he is?
Via Reddit the user has GameConsideration
made a bold assumption at first glance: the druid Halsin only pretends to be a forest elf and is actually a bear. You heard right! But his arguments for this are frighteningly conclusive:
- Halsin is unusually stately for a wood elf.
- Almost nothing is known about his private life and especially his family.
- He was very closely connected to a nature spirit that can transform into a human form.
- He turns into a bear when he is excited about an upcoming act of love. Polymorphism, i.e. the ability to transform, requires concentration, which is known to be lost when excited.

Baldur’s Gate 3 played six times: How different is it really?
The taking of evidence continues: The Reddit user OblongShrimp
even has two more clues up his sleeve: Halsin likes honey and he also turns into a bear when he drank too much alcohol has. Suspicious! Now you’re probably asking yourself the same question as the Reddit user Glam indie rock and roll
:
Why does this sound so… true?
It is common knowledge that Druids can transform into all sorts of animals. But it’s very suspicious that Halsin always seems to turn into a bear when his concentration drops. And the other evidence does the rest.
Even if The developers can definitely be trusted with such a background storythe theory about the transformed bear has not yet been officially confirmed.
