Anyone hoping that the release of the Ubisoft shooter XDefiant is finally getting closer will unfortunately be disappointed. The company has now confirmed a further postponement of the hopeful.
Just a few days ago, supposed information about the first planned seasons of the upcoming shooter XDefiant from Ubisoft was leaked. Anyone who hoped that the release would finally get closer after previous delays will unfortunately be disappointed. Rather, Ubisoft has now confirmed the next postponement!
The development team spoke out via social media and announced a new server test session: “We are finishing the preparations for a 12-hour server test session, which is accessible worldwide on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC The aim of this test is to max out the servers and obtain important data in order to prepare for the launch.” The players therefore have to make the most of the servers and further feedback is of course important.
This means that the release, which was previously scheduled for the first quarter of 2024, will no longer be possible, as confirmed later: “After this short test, we expect to be able to set the launch date and share more details with you “We can share what exciting content XDefiant has to offer in the future.”
The development of XDefiant has not been quiet in the past. There have been reports of a toxic culture and inconsistencies at Ubisoft San Francisco. It was then revealed that the planned deadline in the fourth quarter of 2023 could not be met. This now also applies to the first quarter of 2024.
Let’s hope that everything goes well with the new server stress test this time and that the release won’t be too long in coming. We will of course keep you updated on further developments!
