How to get sheep in Manor Lords
Here are the basic steps to get sheep in Manor Lords:
- Build a livestock trading post
- Define the desired surplus
- Build a sheep farm
When you start a game of Manor Lords, the only animal you have is an ox. To add more animals to your town – including those all-important sheep – you must first build a cattle trading post
As explained in our trading guide, you can import (and export) sheep and lambs, as well as oxen, mules and horses.
To start importing sheep, select the Trading tab from the Livestock Trading Post menu options. Define your “desired surplus” to the number of sheep you wish to have in stock at any time, and your trading post will begin acquiring that number of sheep for the price listed in the menu.
The import price of a sheep is 30 regional wealth, so you will have to make sure you have enough regional wealth available in order to make this first exchange.
Assuming you are wealthy enough to make the required exchange, your next task should be to build a sheep farm and make sure it is made up of at least one family. Up to five sheep or lambs can be stored here, so you’ll need to build more sheep farms if you plan to get more.
Over time, your sheep farm staff will shear your sheep and you will gradually stock up on Wool. If you have invested a development point in the Sheep Breeding perk, any sheep you own will also slowly multiply, so you shouldn’t need to keep importing and spending regional wealth to get more sheep a once they are unlocked.
How to Turn Sheep Wool into Clothes and Coats
One of the main reasons for acquiring sheep is to be able to make clothing. Clothes are an important resource for improving your Burgage plots, but you can also sell them to make a profit and increase the overall wealth of your town. But first, you’ll need to process your sheep’s wool into suitable resources.
To transform wool into Threadyou’ll have to build a weaver’s workshop. Again, assign a family to work on it and the wool will slowly turn into thread over time. As long as you have a market, a family member will automatically create a clothing stall in the market and sell clothes, fulfilling one of the requirements for upgrading your Burgage plots.
But to get the most out of your sheep’s wool, you can also start making Capes. For this you will need a Tailor’s workshop
By having capes to sell at the market, this will also help you unlock level 3 heist plots. Of course, once you have a steady supply of all of the above, you can export your excess goods via the building the usual trading post and bringing even more regional wealth.
