Shogun, a real hit on Disney+, could well give us a big surprise. Everything seems to be confirmed little by little.
It is THE sensation of the moment, the series Shogun has been widely discussed since it aired on FX and especially Disney+. The platform hosts all episodes of the first season, which received high praise from critics and viewers. A series that continues to be revered for its production and its fidelity to the original work from which it is inspired. But after a particularly intense season, everything had to stop. Except that…
Shogun Season 2 seems to be confirmed
While the showrunners said they were basically exhausted and not particularly keen on a second season of Shogun, Justin Marks, for his part, somewhat returned to his first words a few weeks ago by pointing out that it’s a story Had there been, he could definitely return for a new season.
There’s no doubt that the upper echelons of FX and Disney+ had to apply a little pressure and charm to get there.
Today, deadline
The FX company has just secured one of the series’ lead actors, Hiroyuki Sanada, who plays an extremely important character in the series. The actor has already signed an agreement for a sequel as FX cannot do without him if there is a second season.
So that doesn’t mean it’s done, but it does mean something is being decided. FX and Disney are certainly negotiating as fans are wholeheartedly hoping that Justin Marks and his partner Rachel Kondo will work together again for the sequel. So we’re obviously not safe from a big surprise for the second season of Shogun, we’re keeping our fingers crossed.
