If you are the main character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate since you’ve seen it at the top of a certain tier’s list, you might want to read on…
Game director Masahiro Sakurai shared the “win rate data” of online battles in his latest YouTube video – revealing that the highest win rate with the character is 51.43% and the lowest win rate is 47.18%, with a “smooth gradation” in between.
“The internet can be a kind of echo, so if people start saying something is strong or weak, that assessment will gain momentum and make people think it’s more true than it is…”
According to Sakurai, “every fighter has a chance to win,” and if you’re playing as one of the community’s less-favorite fighters, the difference between the top and bottom characters is only about five percent.
“This tells us that each fighter has a chance to win the match. In fact, it would be hard to get them any closer…”
So there you go – if you’re not playing as one of the favorites within the community, you can always quote Masahiro Sakurai.
