If you’ve always been reluctant to buy a physical console, you can now use Xbox Cloud Gaming via Amazon Fire TV. It doesn’t take much.
It was only announced in June, and now it’s already launched. Xbox Cloud Gaming is now also available via Amazon Fire TV. In other words, you can pl ay a whole mountain of Xbox games on your TV without a console. However, there are a few things you need to use it.
To download and use the corresponding Xbox app for free from the Amazon App Store, you need an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max or the Fire TV Stick 4K. Apart from that, a Bluetooth-compatible controller is also required – of course, you have to control your games somehow.
Finally, all you need is a membership to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate so that you can use Xbox Cloud Gaming at all. Otherwise, you just need to log in to the Xbox app with your Microsoft account via Fire TV. You can even try Fortnite for free. You can use Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, PlayStation DualSense or DualShock 4 controller, among others.
The partnership with Amazon started today in a total of 25 countries, including German-speaking countries. This means that the entire Game Pass Ultimate library is available to stream via Fire TV, including current titles such as Starfield, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and the Fallout series.
Microsoft is now taking another step to bring Xbox services to other platforms. Since 2021, gaming via the Xbox app has already been possible on newer models of Samsung Smart TVs, and the Fire TV Stick now adds another option if you want to play on the big screen.
