Few games are as inspired by nature as Empires of the Undergrowth. Ants scurry across the screen by the hundreds, and you’re in control. Currently 35 percent off on Steam (20 dollars).
What’s the matter? Here you control your army of ants in the style of a real-time strategy game. Your queen is, in a figurative sense, something like your main building; you develop your building further and lead the growing band of warriors against enemy insects.

Mahjong Soul
Genre: Online board game | Steam-Release: 24. July 2024 | Preis: Free to play
You probably know Mahjong, but also the Japanese variant Riichi Mahjong? Instead of playing as lone wolves in a solitaire game, four people play against each other. There is no price tag, but there are in-game purchases.
What’s the matter? The game principle is reminiscent of our western Rummikub. You have a set of pieces in front of you, draw a new one each round and discard one. You win by laying out all the pieces according to certain rules. Can be played against AI and real people.
Consent on Steam: 91 percent of over 600 reviewers say it’s positive.
If you think that board games belong on real tables, GameStar editor-in-chief Heiko has a few personal tabletop recommendations for you.
