None of the characters in it Arcane We’re having a good time right now and Viktor may be suffering the most.
[Ed. note: This post contains major spoilers for the most recent episodes of Arcane.]
OK, that’s one a little An exaggeration, as he is now blessed with strange, magical, machine-based healing powers from the Hexcore and has founded a peaceful commune in the heart of the Undercity.
But it’s your boy not He looks healthy now that his body is mostly machines and the bags under his eyes have gotten worse and his hair is all shaggy. And mentally, he definitely feels like he’s carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders as he tries to heal every single person who comes to his door. And emotionally, well, there’s obviously the lingering pain of the not-quite-realized breakup with his long-time research partner Jayce.
Even though Viktor is suffering, I have to say he’s really hot when he’s feeling bad.
Let’s get this out of the way: What I think is hot in a fictional setting is NOT what I think is hot in real life, blah blah blah. I do not condone becoming Hextech Jesus or being so tortured by the burdens of evolution, humanity, and your place in it that you start a cult.
I just think the more he suffers, the sexier he becomes.
It doesn’t help that in the first few scenes of this season, Viktor was practically naked with only a sheet wrapped around him. Yes, yes, he has a crazy robot body now, but hear me out: I’m into it. I also like that his hair is becoming shaggier and longer and that his general demeanor is becoming more and more tired and tired.
He hurts! But by God, he makes it look good.
I’ve always had a soft spot for Viktor, who is probably my favorite male character in the series. He is the quieter counterpart to Jayce’s bravery and has more weight on his slender shoulders, which makes his character extremely compelling to me personally. I like that he desperately wants to change the world, but is constantly under pressure and running out of time.
This season, all of that will be amplified. He has greater and greater power than ever before; But as we’ve learned, this comes at a cost. Nevertheless, he has come to terms with his mission. He will help. No matter how high the costs are. It’s clearly taking its toll on him in every way, but man if that drive and desperation isn’t sexy.
Now again: things don’t look so good. After all these last episodes did ends with Viktor, er, dead – killed by Jayce, no less (how delicious tragic!!!). But hey, the show is on hard about the Jesus images with him (not to mention him being a playable champion). League of Legendsso there’s a precedent for him not dying entirely) so I’m pretty confident he’ll be resurrected. And I’ll be there and wait and twirl my hair when he does.
