Every year Google releases a major update to Android. Previously it had used numbers and candy names, although since last year it has been so. In Android 11, internally known as Android R, we had a calendar marked well with each phase of the new version.
As you can see, from February to April the version exclusively for developers should be released. And it was. We've been telling you all the news and hopefully in May the first beta will be released.
Well, as you know, this first version of the test has been postponed until June 3, when the event is announced online. What we didn't expect was to fulfill the wait for Google to launch Type 4 developer interface for Android 11.
New release calendar
With the current calendar no longer valid, it's important to know when we will be able to access newer versions of Android.
- Beta 1: June 3
- This will be the first version of the test and can be installed by all those users who sign up for the Android test system.
- Beta 2: July 6, 2020
- In the second edition we will see an increase in the robustness and access to the final APIs and the first compatible applications.
- Beta 3: August 2020
- This will be the same version as the stable version released later, we are just waiting to fix the potential fix.
- Last Version: September 8, 2020
- After these stages of evaluation, we will attend a presentation and introduction of sustainable change, the code to be shared by all members of the AOSP platform.
How to upgrade to Android DP4 11
As expected, Google updated the firmware to download on all Pixel models (except the first two).
We can wait to get OTA on our devices or if we want to, install the manual installation with the books in this section of its website.
