Microsoft's most powerful gaming console, the Xbox Series X, will be available later this year, so let's take a look at everything we know.
It's been almost seven years since the Xbox One hit the market, and despite our amazing upgrades through the Xbox One X, Microsoft believes it's time to release another behemoth.
The Xbox Series X will no doubt be released at about the same time as the newly confirmed PS5, and pre-orders will be available soon. As this year progresses, more release games will be released, but we already know some, namely Halo infinite with Legend of Senua: Hell's Blade 2. There are also rumors that the X-series diskless version will be launched after the release for people who like the true digital format.
Xbox Series X release date
The Xbox Series X has no exact release date, but we do know that it will be released before the next Christmas, and it is likely to be released before the end of November 2020. The Xbox One was released on November 22, so we can reasonably expect to look around. Although separate events have been held outside E3 in the past year or so, more detailed information on prices, reservations and release dates is expected in June this year.
Xbox Series X specifications
Make no mistakes; the X-Series is definitely a beast. The new vertical design makes it more like a PC tower than a traditional Xbox, although Microsft says you can set it aside if you want. You can see Alex's take on the new design here.
The latest image from AMD shows the two HDMI ports and two USB-C ports we assume, but this is actually a little art license from AMD.
Another vulnerability indicates that its GPU, code-named Arden, will be equipped with 12 teraflops, use 56 computing units, and assume operation at 1.7GHz. The CPU may have eight Zen 2 cores with SMT, and in terms of memory, it is rumored to run GDDR6 at 5600Gb per second. The new digital Xbox (code-named Lockhart) will run at a slightly slower speed and may not function as well as the Xbox OneX.
If you do have all of these features, you will be able to run multiple games on standby at once. It will also run at 4K and 60fps, with the option to support 8K and 120fps. It's unclear whether the user interface will be slightly simplified and made more user-friendly.
You can also use existing Xbox accessories with the Series X, which is great news for you who just bought an Elite Series 2 controller. It will also support every generation of Xbox, so you can inherit the tradition. As Microsoft hopes to launch its flagship streaming service, it is expected that the xCloud Project will also be launched in the next few months and released after its release. 50 new games have been added to the xCloud library and will soon be available for PC players.
Xbox Series X price
We are still guessing, but for the moment, the PS5 is estimated to return you to around £ 400, so we assume the price of the Xbox Series X is similar. Xbox head Phil Spencer said he learned a lesson when launching the less powerful Xbox One, which costs more than the PS4. This time, the capabilities of both machines have been greatly enhanced and will eventually be reflected in the price.
Exclusive Xbox Series X merchandise and more
Halo Infinite is the big release title for the Xbox Series X because we see Master Chief appearing in the prequel in some form. Microsoft announced in November that all 15 Xbox game studios are currently developing "the largest and most creative Xbox exclusive game lineup in our history", but specific details are still thin.
Senaga's Saga: Hellblade 2 is one of the works of developer Ninja Theory. It is expected that Everwild will also make its debut on the X-series and will also receive a new Forza title. Some games (such as the "Watchdog Legion") may skip the current version and become the launch games for the Xbox Series X and PS5, but so far unknown. Microsoft has said that as the year progresses, it will announce more exclusive products, so keep an eye on this space.
