The topic of next-gen gaming display resolution is, rightly or wrongly, on everyone’s lips right now. With the arrival of next-gen consoles, more and more games will allow you to choose between several display modes intended to emphasize resolution or framerate. Sony has just confirmed that a display mode will not be available on PS5
Sony has just confirmed the Italian version of the site IGN will not allow a native 1440p signal to be sent to the screen on which it is connected. This situation, which already existed on PS4 Pro, should not have any consequence for users of 4K (2160p) televisions or owners of Full HD (1080p) screens, these two resolutions being compatible.
The only people with whom this incompatibility will be problematic are those who intend to use a PC monitor to play the PS5. These screens, some of which are 120Hz compatible (and therefore compatible with titles running at 120 fps), in fact often have 1440p for maximum resolution.
And for titles that run or will run in native 1440p
As a reminder, the standard PS5 and the PS5 Digital Edition will be released on November 12.
What do you think of this situation? Will this incompatibility with native 1440p harm you? Tell us all in the comments below.
