How to Get a Horror Story in Destiny 2
The Horror Story is one of the original Festival of the Lost weapons, and it continues to be available exclusively through this annual event.
Unlike other Festival of the Lost weapons, such as Mechabre, there are no quests or event challenges that directly reward Horror Story. Instead, the only way to receive Horror Story is like a random drop at the end of a haunted lost sector.
All you can do is repeatedly run Haunted Lost Sectors until the end. The good news is that Festival of the Lost weapon drop rates are very high and Haunted Lost Sectors don’t take long to complete, so farming is quite efficient.
The Festival of the Lost 2022 is here! With it comes the arrival of the Mechabre. Elsewhere in Season of Plunder we have the Sails of the Shipstealer quest, Treasure Coordinates and Map Fragments, Cryptic Quatrains, and weapons such as Quicksilver Storm and Taipan 4FR. Meanwhile, there’s the arrival of the King’s Fall and King’s Fall challenges, as well as weapons such as Doom of Chelchis and Touch of Malice. For The Witch Queen, find out how to get Exotics including Dead Messenger and Parasite.
Horror Story god roll recommendation in Destiny 2
Horror Story has been around in one version or another for several years, and currently has no original trait. Instead, Guardians must rely on a favorable mix of random perks in order to make Horror Story a particularly useful auto rifle.
A “god roll” of Horror Story will have an ideal set of benefits that work well in conjunction with each other. While Horror Story is exceptionally easy to use, its base damage is somewhat lacking. A great build on this gun instead focuses on utility, especially for tricky content like Legendary Lost Sectors.
here is our Recommended Mechabre god scroll in Destiny 2:
- SSF riflescope
- Precise rounds
- Ambitious Assassin
- Osmosis
SSF rifle scope is a happy medium between the standard low zoom optic and the longer zoom ST riflescope. Like the ST version, Rifle Scope SSF has increased zoom and range, but has a much lower penalty to handling, making it an excellent auto rifle for ranged combat.
Precise rounds just increases the range of Horror Story. Given the Rifle Scope’s improved zoom, this gun is starting to become extremely effective at medium to long range.
Ambitious Assassin may be a somewhat controversial choice, conventional wisdom would tend to prefer Subsistence’s constant and smaller refills. However, Ambitious Assassin rewards careful planning, as it overloads the magazine after reloads after kills. This is great for getting a few kills, taking cover while healing, then re-engaging with a massive number of bullets that can be fired non-stop.
Osmosis is the final piece that turns Horror Story into a great game for endgame content. Higher level activities will often lock your gear. Osmosis imbues fired shells with the same element as your class, giving you a third type of damage you can deal to match enemy shields.
As usual, once you have your favorite jet, be sure to upgrade it to a Masterwork to give it a stat boost, the ability to generate orbs on multiple kills, and add the option of a kill tracker!
