Sellia’s refuge is a location in Elden Ring that can be discovered in the center of Caelid.
This is a crystal-lined cave southwest of Fort Faroth and northeast of Sellia, the City of Witchcraft, but there is a trick to accessing its location. To learn how to do this, read our walkthrough below on how to get to Sellia Hideaway and beat her boss Putrid Crystalian Trio.

How to Get to Sellia Hideaway
To open Sellia Hideaway Cave, you must roll or hit the rock wall at the point marked on the map below to make it disappear and reveal the entrance.
Activate the Grace’ SiteSellia’s refuge‘ and follow the path deeper into the cave until the first enemy tries to kill you. We find 1x Golden Rune (3) by the corpse at the end of the tunnel.
Behind it is a illusory wall between the large crystals. These hide the way forward. There’s another one at the end of the hallway when we reach this area as well:
Drop from the passable crystal to the left onto the lower crystal and you will come to a spot with a corpse that gives you 1x Golden Rune (5).
On the way back, all you have to do is jump into the knee-deep water. The multi-armed enemy here with the crown (his name is Revenant) can drop a Ghost Glovewort when he dies. A practical way to defeat him is to use healing incantations. It is also possible to reduce your life points over time if the healing spell acts gradually.
Take 1x Golden Rune (5) of the corpse, 1x Lost Ashes of War from the one next to it and 1x stimulating bolus of the third body.
In the corridor to the northwest lies another corpse with 1x Darkforge Stone (4). Go down behind the big crystal and take care of the few crystal slugs waiting for you there.
To the left is a small bonfire surrounded by enemies who have 4x luminous stone lying next to them.
At this point, you have two main paths to choose from, shown in the screenshot below:
Head left towards the south…
If you follow the crystal to the left of the screenshot above towards the south, you will find yourself at the bottom, in front of a magically sealed door. Upon examination, the clue tells us that we need a Sealbreaker to open it (more precisely the Sellian Sealbreakerthat you will receive as part of Sellen’s quest):
If you don’t have this item, you will need to return to the crossroads and take the other path shown below.
Heading northwest…
The northwest corridor leads to a fairly steep downward slope, interspersed with crystals that form platforms and bridges. This piece leads to the pattern, but there is more to it than what you see at first glance:
At the bottom is a corpse with 10x crystal darts. After that, head southwest to the cave boss.
In the right corner is a corpse whose pockets contain 3x preservation bolus:
To its left, you will discover the next illusory wall. This leads to a treasure chest where you can collect the Crystal Spear.
Once you have the spear, return to the point in the screenshot below and you can enter one of the best crystals in the room:
At the end, drop down onto the crystal below and look to the southwest. You will see a passage that you can jump to from the elevated position.
Return to the passage and you will land in a room with three wizards. It’s best not to waste too much time here, but to eliminate them quickly.
Their camp contains a treasure chest with the Crystalline ashes, which is worth it. Eventually, you will find yourself in the hallway that leads to the boss.
How to Defeat the Putrid Crystal Trio
This boss sucks. If two of the Crystalians weren’t annoying enough, there are three of them in Sellia Hideaway. Fortunately, we know their movements quite well from our previous encounters with them – for example, from the Academy’s Crystal Cave, the Raya Lucaria Crystal Tunnel, and the Altus Tunnel. Each individual Crystalian is easily done on their own, but three at once is quite a challenge.
As always, you need to break each Crystalian’s stance once, preferably with powerful charged R2/RT attacks, until they collapse to the ground. Then he is vulnerable to normal hits that previously only scratched him.
It’s definitely not a bad idea to start with the Spear Crystalian. Pull it far to the edge and try to break it. Along the way, you need to keep an eye on ranged fighters, but the damage from simple attacks is not that high, so you can take one.
The problem is the scarlet rot that comes from their hits. Keep storage boluses on hand if needed.
Once there are only two left alive, everything becomes more manageable. Take the one with the Ringblades and finally the one with the spells.
Summons help keep other Crystalians busy, which is especially important in the first phase. As a reward, you receive 7,000 runes and witchcraft Crystal Torrent. You are now free to leave and continue your adventure.
