Although the description on the board says it is in Caer Norvent West Gate, no such location is shown on the Sanbreque map. Other than that, it’s described as being somewhere between Lostwing and Caer Norvent.

To save you a lot of time in your research, the gryphon Dozmare is located in the southeast corner of the Norvent Valley, which you can access by following the road south out of Lostwing Village. Go all the way to the end of this path to trigger the griffin to swoop down and start the fight.

Tips for beating Dozmare in Final Fantasy 16

Dozamre is a notorious level 28 B-rank mark that uses fast ground and sky moves to attack Clive. It’s not too difficult a battle as long as you build Clive with the right abilities and gear, but Dozmare’s speed can be a problem if you’re not careful.

here are some tips for beating Dozmare in Final Fantasy 16:

  • Equip the Berserker Ring – The Berserker Ring takes advantage of the amount of dodges you have to do during the Domare fight, as it gives Clive a small window of increased damage after performing a precision dodge.
  • Use Garuda Abilities – Garuda abilities like Aerial Blast and Gouge are some of the best for lowering stagger bars in Final Fantasy 16. ‘To be touched. Use Gouge after performing a Deadly Takedown to ensure you don’t get hit while using it.
  • Use Limit Break when Dozmare is downed – Since Dozmare is almost always on the move, it’s best to keep Clive’s Limit Break when the gryphon is fully staggered, as he’s stationary and can’t attack you.
  • Keep your distance when abilities recharge – Unless you have abilities to use, walk away from Dozmare and cast your magic to reduce its stagger bar. It’s easier to dodge Dozmare’s lunge attacks from further away, but once you’ve recharged a useful ability, close the distance.
  • Respecialization is free – Remember that you can refund any of your ability points for free and use those points to master another ability if you think it will help you more in the Dozmare fight. Then you can go back to your favorites after beating the griffin.

The rewards for defeating Dozmare are:

  • x1 Scarletite
  • x1 Meteorite
  • 650 XP
  • 55 ability points
  • 20 Fame
  • 8,500 Gil
