Where to find the Key Tool in Resident Evil 4
We spent an embarrassing time looking for the key, as we completely forgot the file found next to the overwrite terminal. We were more concerned with our fancy new biosensor found next door.
Then when we remembered the file, we misinterpreted it and killed the wandering regenerators, wasting ammo on top of our wasted time.
To save you a lot of trouble, you can find the spanner tool in using your biosensor scope on the regenerators in the incubation lab tubes, the piece next to the overwrite terminal. Our wrench was in the regenerator in the northwest corner of the room.
Our Resident Evil 4 walkthrough can help you through the village with guides on the Large and Small Cave Shrine puzzle solutions, the Church Dial puzzle, and the Del Lago, El Gigante, and Méndez bosses. To take out the key tool from the regenerator, you need to kill it by destroying all the parasites inside its body. Use the Biosensor Scope on a gun that will take it, then shoot the yellow-colored parasites while aiming for the Regenerator.
Once dead, the key will drop as loot and you can use it on the crush terminal to finally get the level 3 keycard – but be careful! This takes a while to process and the room will be crawling with enemies.
We recommend circling the room until the keycard is ready – to save your ammo – then use the keycard at the southwest exit to return to Facility 1 storage where you can now free Ashley.
