A company spokesperson said in a statement that Ubisoft San Francisco and Red Storm Entertainment had informed the affected offices that 45 employees had to be laid off. This was a difficult but necessary decision in order to take into account the future of the company and its goals.
This is another setback for Red Storm Entertainment, as it was only announced in May that the free-to-play game Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland was being put on hold. But Ubisoft’s workforce has also been hit hard in other ways in the past. Last year, 60 employees were laid off in May, before another 124 had to go in November.
