The day is just around the corner, the sun has risen in a new age. The whole team is so proud to announce that Age of Empires IV is now in the Microsoft Store, Steam and at Xbox Game Pass for PC and Ultimate members.

This is the first new Age of Empires numbered title in 16 years, and we are honored to have added a chapter to this globally popular franchise. Players around the world have fought fierce battles, built sprawling empires, and played for nearly 25 years and it’s exciting to add more fun to our players.

To celebrate the start of Age of Empires IV, we’re taking over NYC’s Times Square by spanning multiple city blocks with large digital screens, a living diorama, and an AR experience. Please share your experience when in NYC. For those in London, the trip to Piccadilly Circus starting November 2nd could be an experience for the ages.

Age of Empires IV has something to offer for every strategy gaming fan. With eight different civilizations, four addicting campaigns, multiplayer, skirmishes, maps, unlockable videos, Art of War challenges, championships, and more, we’re excited to see what you play first.

If you’re new to Age of Empires, first of all, welcome! Now that you are with us, you have many options to get started:

• Go to the “Study” tab in the opening menu to find our intro tutorial. Our narrator walks you through the game’s basic skills, like building your economy and joining the battle, as you help a group of displaced villagers start over.
• Did you understand the basics? Our “Art of War” single player challenges will help you hone your skills and earn medals as you improve the expertise you need to be victorious in future battles.
• You can also play our campaigns through the ‘story mode’ so that you can enjoy the challenges of the game, but with a reduced level of difficulty, while you concentrate on the historical journey and gameplay.
• You can also take on the AI ​​in “Skirmish” mode. Choose your civilization, your AI difficulty, your map and get ready!
• Would you like to test your courage against other players? Switch to multiplayer mode and choose Quick Game or create a custom game. How you play is up to you! From the cards to the winning terms, no two games will be the same.
• We’ve also provided a breakdown of the hotkeys here on Xbox Wire for easy reference.

If this isn’t your first trip to the battlefield, there are plenty of new features for you to enjoy Age of Empires IV. Try positioning your archers on walls to literally take your strategy to new heights. Place your units in stealth forests to set up the perfect ambush. Your units will even whisper to avoid detection by your enemies. Move your entire civilization across the map as you play as Mongols and choose your landmarks to grow older and get extra bonuses.
