Allegedly, an announcement livestream for the updated version of Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown will take place on May 27th.
Information about Sega’s new Virtua Fighter title has been leaked for a while. The company first revealed a teaser trailer for the game on Tokyo Game Show last month, but didn’t reveal much information about what it is, or if it’s a game at all. At the time, Sega CEO Haruki Satomi described it as “a project for the 60th anniversary of [Sega]”, Which would start in Japan and be a” new start “with a focus on eSports and competitive play.”
Then official footage appeared on PSN. But now there could finally be some answers about what the future of Virtua Fighter holds. Sega officially announced the Virtua Fighter x eSports Project Official Announcement livestream on May 27th at 8:00 PM JST (4 AM PST). The live stream will take place on Sega’s new Virtua Fighter YouTube channel, which is currently showing a teaser. Sega also has one Teaser website

Previous leaks referred to the game as Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, although it is known simply as Virtua Fighter eSports in Japan. The last game in the series was Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, which was released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2012.
