Over the past two weeks, we’ve seen the successful launch of Resident Evil Village. During this time, I immersed myself in depth in this new adventure created by Capcom, in which we will have to help Ethan Winters to save her daughter from the clutches of ruthless mother Miranda.
The eighth installment of this famous Survival Horror franchise has been one of the best approaches we’ve played so far, there’s no doubt about it. But during several of the times when IP was in an early stage of production, we thought about adding more enemies than what we’ve faced so far.
Capcom plans to add a wide variety of enemies to Resident Evil Village
In a video published in the official channel of the game on YouTube, the Japanese studio said that one of its biggest challenges is to implement a wide range of enemies, with whom we have to find our lives to escape unscathed in the various confrontations that make up the game. However, they decided to go with the options we know today, so that at all times we were on alert and the pace of the story mode was on equal footing.
It made the fight uninteresting. The content of the game has been completely scrapped compared to what the development team thought they had done. Instead of freaking players out by just throwing aggressive monsters at them, we’re making them paranoid about if and how they’re going to be attacked, and worry about where the next enemy will be.
So when an enemy appears relentless, we consciously focus on improving the pace. I think that’s where it started to fit in.
What about you? Would you have liked there to be more enemies? Remember, you can read the Resident Evil Village review, to decide whether to acquire it at some point this year.
